Rules for the installation and operation of an autonomous fire detector

The autonomous fire detector (hereinafter referred to as AFD) is designed for automatic detection of fire (smoke) and notification thereof.

The AFD must be installed in each living room (kitchen is not considered a living room) of a dwelling (apartment).

When installing the AFD, the following should be considered:

- the main task of the detector is to give you an alarm signal when you are resting and cannot monitor the fire situation in your home, therefore it should be installed primarily in sleeping areas or in close proximity to them (hallway) from the side of the most probable fire origin;

- as a rule, smoke rises to the ceiling and then spreads along it, so the most preferred location for the detector is on the ceiling in the middle of the room with a screw. If this condition cannot be met (stretch ceilings), detectors can be installed on the ceiling near the wall. But no closer than 10 cm from it or on the wall at a distance of 10 to 30 cm from the ceiling;

- the corners between the walls are the least ventilated places in the rooms, so when installing detectors on the ceiling or wall, it is not recommended to install them closer than 50 cm from the corner.

Possible malfunctions and troubleshooting methods:

1. If the AFD emits a short audible signal with simultaneous activation of the light indicator and a repetition period of at least once per minute, the probable cause is a malfunction of the power element (9V battery), which needs to be replaced.
2. If the detector constantly emits an audible signal in the absence of smoke, and the light indicator is on, there are two probable causes: dust in the optical unit; the detector is faulty. The AFD must be cleaned of dust using a vacuum cleaner, or if this does not help, the AFD must be sent for repair.

It is forbidden:

1. To disassemble the AFD independently.
2. To connect it to a 220V power source.
3. To paint, whitewash, or cover the AFD with wallpaper.
4. To dismantle, except for replacing the power elements.
