Precautions at a summer body of water.
Safety Precautions at Summer Water Bodies.
Hot weather is expected this weekend, which means it's time not only to relax but also to recall important rules:
- Do not leave children unattended.
- Swim only in designated areas where recreation is permitted and lifeguards are on duty. In the Verkhnedvinsk district, there are 3 permitted locations: 2 beaches on Lake Osvy, and 1 beach in the town of Verkhnedvinsk.
- Do not swim far from the shore and do not overestimate your abilities.
- Do not enter the water while intoxicated – this is one of the most common causes of accidents.
- Do not swim alone, especially if you are not a strong swimmer.
- Do not leave children unattended for even a minute. Even in shallow water, a child can be in danger.
- Do not dive in unfamiliar places – there may be rocks, snags, and other dangerous objects at the bottom.
- Do not swim beyond buoys and do not approach ships, boats, and catamarans.
- Do not jump into the water from bridges, cliffs, and piers if you are unsure of the depth and safety.
- Monitor the weather: swimming is prohibited during thunderstorms, strong winds, or storms.
- Do not get too cold – prolonged immersion in water can lead to cramps and a decline in well-being.
- Use safety equipment for children and those who are not strong swimmers.
If trouble occurs:
- Immediately call for lifeguards or adults;
- Call 112;
- If possible, help the victim without putting yourself in danger.
