Verkhnedvinsk. The fiery challenge accepted: young rescuers are heroes!
Within the walls of the Verkhnedvinsk District Department for Emergency Situations, an exciting and truly important competition among young firefighter rescue clubs took place. This event served as a vivid confirmation of the high level of training of students from the district's educational institutions, their pursuit of knowledge, strength, and readiness to provide assistance in difficult situations. This time, the competition brought together the best teams, each of which demonstrated their skills and abilities in five challenging stages.
The first test – the formation review – not only checked the team's endurance and discipline but also showed how well the participants could work as a unified mechanism. Clear commands, even marching – all this required maximum concentration and the ability to listen to their commander. The young rescuers coped with this responsible stage with dignity.
If the formation review is about strict discipline, then the "Presentation" is a space for creativity and demonstrating the team's uniqueness. Each club was given the opportunity to present themselves, their history, goals, and motto. Original performances, musical numbers, theatrical scenes – all this allowed for the disclosure of each team's individuality and demonstrated their cohesion.
The "Connoisseurs" competition is a true test of competence. Participants had to answer complex questions related to fire safety, the history of firefighting, first aid procedures, and actions in emergency situations.
"CrossFit" was a stage that became a real test of physical fitness. Teams had to overcome an obstacle course, demonstrating strength, agility, and endurance. Running, carrying heavy loads, overcoming barriers – all this required maximum effort from the participants. It was evident that the participants were not only bright minds but also true athletes, ready for any physical exertion.
The final and, perhaps, the most crucial stage was the first aid competition. Participants faced simulated real injuries and conditions, where the life of a hypothetical victim depended on their speed of reaction, correctness of actions, and confidence. Not only the technique of bandaging and cardiopulmonary resuscitation was evaluated, but also the ability to act calmly and decisively in a stressful situation.
Following all competitive stages, the team from Secondary School No. 2 of Verkhnedvinsk named after Hero of the Soviet Union N.V. Troyan proved to be the best. The silver medals went to the students from Borkovichi Secondary School of Verkhnedvinsk District, and the team from Shaiterovo Secondary School of Verkhnedvinsk District took the third place on the podium.
The winners undoubtedly deserved their awards, but the true victory for all participants was the acquisition of invaluable experience, the strengthening of team bonds, and the realization that they are the future defenders, ready to stand guard over security.
In a solemn ceremony, certificates were awarded to the members of the Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers-Firefighters. For the young participants, this is not just a document, but a symbol of responsibility, knowledge, and readiness to help others.
The rally of young rescuers is a real school of life, where they learn to be brave, attentive, and ready to come to the aid. The rally also proves that heroes are growing among us. They are just in sneakers and with backpacks for now.
