Caution, firecrackers!
Everyone wants to make a celebration colorful and beautiful. Fireworks, firecrackers, and other pyrotechnic devices will help realize your desires. However, in the pursuit of special effects, many forget that they are holding a dangerous item.
The basis of fireworks and similar devices consists of pyrotechnic compositions, mixtures of combustible substances and oxidizers. These compositions must ignite easily and burn brightly. Therefore, fireworks are flammable products and require increased attention when handling them.
A significant number of fires occur due to violations of the rules for using pyrotechnics or the use of substandard products that have not passed certification tests. Pyrotechnics are essentially explosives and can cause considerable damage if not handled properly. The safety rules are very simple.
Pyrotechnic products must be used strictly in accordance with the manufacturer's operating instructions, which contain: restrictions on the conditions of use, safe launch methods, hazardous zone dimensions, storage conditions, shelf life, and disposal methods.
The use of pyrotechnic devices is prohibited:
- indoors, in buildings, structures, as well as on roofs, balconies, and loggias;
- on the territories of explosive and fire-hazardous facilities, near power lines;
- on stage areas during concerts and festive events.
The use of products with expired shelf life, signs of damage, without operating instructions, and a certificate of conformity (declaration of conformity or conformity mark) is not allowed.
Safety rules for launching firecrackers and fireworks:
- carefully study the instructions before launching;
- before igniting the fuse, you must know exactly which side of the product is the top and where the burning elements will fly out from. Never point fireworks towards spectators, even as a joke;
- the launch site must be level, with no trees, power lines, or other obstacles overhead. Additionally, it must be located at a distance of at least 50 meters from residential buildings. Rockets often fly into balconies or penetrate windows into rooms, leading to fires.
