MChS New Year's Promotion
New Year comes only once a year! But do not worry that this holiday knocks on our door so rarely.
It is sad that, according to statistics, it is during the holiday season that the largest number of emergencies occurs. This is because, relaxing and indulging in fun, many simply forget about safety rules, which can instantly overshadow a whole year of waiting for the chimes.
Preparing for the long-awaited holiday, citizens are already setting up and decorating their Christmas trees. Here are a few tips from rescuers:
– The Christmas tree should be placed away from heating radiators, so that it does not impede free movement around the room and does not block doors leading to other rooms.
– The top of the Christmas tree should not touch the ceiling;
– It is forbidden to decorate a Christmas tree (real or artificial) with easily flammable toys;
– Do not cover the base of the Christmas tree with ordinary cotton wool, or decorate it with burning candles;
– Never leave garlands plugged in if you leave home or go to bed.
By the way, burning artificial Christmas trees releases very harmful substances. And a drop of burning plastic falling on the skin will leave a deeper burn than a real red-hot ember.
But there is a way out of any problem, so to help every resident of our country spend the New Year holidays without emergencies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is holding the annual republican campaign "Safe New Year!". This year it will be held from December 11 to December 29.
During the campaign, the Ministry of Emergency Situations plans to:
– Meet with elderly people at the territorial center for social services;
– Hold a safety festival in some schools, families with children in socially vulnerable situations, and in family-type homes.
– Conduct educational talks with customers at points of sale of pyrotechnics;
– Hold a New Year's safety lesson in the children's department of the Central Regional Hospital.
– Organize events in crowded places – open areas, shops, etc.
The most active participants are invited to show their creativity and resourcefulness to win the "New Year's Design of the Ministry of Emergency Situations" competition, in which they need to decorate their apartment or house for the New Year with a touch of safety!
