Fire from a plugged-in television

Since the beginning of the year, 15 fires have occurred in the Verkhnedvinsk district. Here are the circumstances of some of them.

On March 7, a private house caught fire in the village of Svirashchina.

From the explanation of the homeowner, it follows that she was at home at the time of the fire. She heard the fire alarm beep and went out of the next room to see what had happened. In the living room, she saw a small amount of smoke. After that, she went outside and saw that the living room was already on fire, and the fire was most intense where the television connected to an extension cord was located. The television was working before the fire, and no one had turned it off. The wiring in the living room was old, over 20 years old (power company employees advised replacement during their visit, but the wiring was not replaced).

The cause of the fire is a short circuit in the electrical equipment (television).

Remember: electrical appliances should only be plugged in under supervision. It is necessary to ensure timely replacement of old and worn-out wiring with new wiring, thereby reducing the risk of short circuits.
