Carelessness led to the fire

On July 25, the Verkhnedvinsk District Department of Internal Affairs received a report from citizen Zh. stating that on July 23, his veranda curtain was set on fire through a transom window, and on July 24, the veranda itself was set on fire. An investigative-operational group worked at the scene of the fire.

It turned out that the owner's acquaintance, using the missing glass pane in the veranda, entered a lit match to illuminate the veranda room to check if the entrance door was bolted. As a result, the match ignited the curtain, which he extinguished himself. Afterwards, frightened, he went home. The next day, he returned to resolve the incident. However, no one opened the door. While on the porch of the house, he smoked a cigarette and carelessly threw the unextinguished butt, which fell into the joint of the wooden veranda railing. Afterwards, he went home.

According to the apartment owner's statement, on July 23, around midnight, he went to bed, and the entrance door was locked. In the morning, he noticed that the tulle on the veranda window was damaged and showed signs of burning. He went to bed again around 10:00 PM. At approximately 11:00 PM that night, he woke up to the knocking of neighbors who reported that the porch and a bedside table were on fire. The neighbors explained that they noticed a fire on the porch, extinguished it, and reported the incident.

The cause of the fire is the careless handling of fire by the apartment owner's acquaintance.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds: carelessness with fire can have tragic consequences for human life. Be vigilant and cautious when using open flames and small ignition sources. Even a small flame from a match can burn down an entire house without mercy.
