Is it permissible to light fires in the forest?
Campfires are permitted in forests only in designated areas, which are determined and marked by forestry workers. Moreover, this can only be done during specific periods: for example, during the fire hazard period, when forest access is prohibited, campfires are naturally also not allowed. Building a campfire in an unauthorized location is a serious violation of forest fire safety regulations and entails liability, even if it does not cause a forest fire.
However, even at a designated site and during permitted times, one cannot build an excessively large campfire "reaching for the sky": a shower of sparks can reach trees, and a large flame can get out of control. It is also necessary to take all measures to prevent the spread of fire beyond the site, ensure constant monitoring of the fire, place primary firefighting equipment nearby, and afterwards – extinguish the flame and douse the embers with water or cover them with sand.
Remember that a moment of carelessness can turn into an irreparable tragedy. Do not allow the burning of dry grass, and do not build campfires in prohibited areas! Protect yourself and your property!
