The cause of the fire is a short circuit

On 10.04.2023 at 05:15, a report was received about a tractor fire belonging to the State Forestry Institution "Verkhnedvinsk Leskhoz" and located on the territory of this facility at the address: Verkhnedvinsk, Solnechny Lane, 2.

As a result of the fire, the tractor's engine compartment, cabin, and paintwork were damaged.

The cause of the fire was a malfunction of the tractor's electrical system (short circuit) in an area limited by a part of the engine compartment near the cabin, as well as the internal volume of the front half of the cabin. This could have occurred practically anywhere where, due to insulation failure, conductor cores could come into contact with the tractor's body. Moreover, the tractor's body, made of sheet steel, can damage the insulation of the electrical wires in contact with it during operation due to vibration, as well as during installation and repair work.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds you of the actions of employees upon discovering a fire:

An employee who discovers a fire is obliged to:

- take measures to notify people and evacuate them;

- take all possible measures to extinguish the fire using available primary fire extinguishing means.

An official arriving at the scene of the fire is obliged to:

- check if fire and rescue services have been called;

- send a person who is well aware of the location of access roads and water sources to meet the fire and rescue services;

- organize the evacuation of people and take measures to prevent panic before the arrival of fire and rescue services;

- call for medical assistance and emergency services if necessary;

- check the activation of fire protection technical means;

- organize the disconnection of electricity from consumers without disconnecting fire protection technical means.

Upon arrival at the fire, the official is obliged to inform the fire chief about the location of the fire, the presence of people in the premises requiring assistance, as well as people involved in extinguishing the fire, the presence of explosive and flammable materials, etc.
