Let's prevent fires in ecosystems

Dry weather has begun to set in the Verkhnedvinsk district. This is a signal to intensify efforts to prevent ecosystem fires.

All interested parties in the district are conducting raids on settlements and places where household waste is burned. The correspondent of the district newspaper "Dvinskaya Pravda" together with representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were no exception.

People have actively started tidying up their land, which often involves lighting fires. And as the raids have shown, fires are quite frequent, and citizens, for the most part, know the rules for lighting them: "We don't watch TV or read newspapers," we hear from many.

However, an extra reminder that fires should not be left unattended, should be lit in calm weather at a safe distance from buildings, and that basic extinguishing means should be at hand, may not be superfluous.

On April 25, dry vegetation caught fire along the railway tracks in the territory of the Kokhanovichsky rural council, which necessitated response measures by the Ministry of Emergency Situations units. The cause of the fire was the arson of dry vegetation by an unidentified person. During the investigation and questioning of neighbors, it was not possible to identify the guilty party. Neighbors claim that they did not burn dry vegetation and do not know who could have done it; moreover, they had not previously observed fires or people in this area. A petition to search for the guilty party has been sent to the Verkhnedvinsk District Department of Internal Affairs.

Since the beginning of the fire hazard period, about 2000 people in the Verkhnedvinsk district have been instructed on fire safety rules.
