May 19 – Pioneer Day

The year 2023 has been declared the Year of Peace and Creation. The symbol of peace is the dove – a carrier of purity, light, peace, and love.

The dove of peace is an expression that gained popularity after the end of World War II in connection with the activities of the World Congress of Supporters of Peace. The emblem of this congress was drawn by Pablo Picasso, depicting a white dove carrying an olive branch in its beak.

On the initiative of the members of the Children's Chamber of the Belarusian Republican Pioneer Organization (BRPO), a district campaign "WE ARE FOR PEACE!" was held in the pioneer detachments of Verkhnedvinsk region.
As part of the campaign, members of the pioneer detachments presented the symbol of peace – a paper dove with wishes for peace, health, and well-being – to the residents of Verkhnedvinsk and the district.
