From the courtroom – assaulted out of jealousy

The Prosecutor's Office of the Verkhnedvinsk District supported the state prosecution in a criminal case
against a 57-year-old local resident – he is accused of intentional infliction of minor bodily harm.

According to the materials of the criminal case, the man, while in a state of alcoholic intoxication, struck his cohabitant with his hand at least once in the face. As a result of this act, the victim sustained minor bodily harm – bruises of both eyelids, a fracture of the nasal bones.

In court, the accused fully admitted his guilt and sincerely repented of his actions. He explained that during a conflict that arose after drinking alcohol, he struck his cohabitant in the face out of jealousy. It should be noted that the victim was also in a state of alcoholic intoxication.

Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the Verkhnedvinsk District Court rendered a guilty verdict. Based on Article 153 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the man was sentenced to 300 hours of community service.

The court's verdict has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed
on appeal.
