Senior Assistant Prosecutor of Verkhnedvinsk District Kuzmionok Anastasia held a discussion with 8th-grade students of the Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 2 of Verkhnedvinsk named after Hero of the Soviet Union N.V. Troyan" on the topic of information security for minors on the Internet.
The main goal of the meeting was to draw students' attention to possible threats on the network, increase minors' literacy in security matters, and form norms of behavior on the Internet.
The prosecutor's employee spoke about the types of information that can cause harm, and about methods of protection against unlawful encroachments in social networks, in particular against cyberbullying and cyberstalking.
In her speech, the Senior Assistant Prosecutor emphasized: "Cyberbullying is intentional and repeated insults, threats, and mockery using digital technologies. The most effective way to combat cyberbullying is to refuse to communicate with the abuser. Another rule is to tell parents or the class teacher about the situation. If the threats are serious, it is necessary to contact law enforcement agencies."
At the end of the meeting, schoolchildren and teachers received answers to their questions.
