Paid with someone else's card

The Prosecutor's Office of Verkhnedvinsk District supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 45-year-old local resident; she is charged with property theft through modification of computer information.

According to the case materials, the woman, while in the locker room of a dairy farm of one of the district's agricultural enterprises, stole a bank payment card belonging to another person from a clothing storage locker.

Subsequently, she disposed of the funds from the victim's bank account at her own discretion. Thus, the offender paid for groceries and alcoholic beverages purchased for herself, and topped up her personal mobile phone balance using the stolen card. In total, the woman made 5 transactions on the card amounting to 95 rubles. Despite the small amount spent, criminal liability is provided for this act.

In the court hearing, the accused fully admitted her guilt, sincerely repented of her actions, and compensated for the property damage caused.

Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor and the identity of the accused, the Verkhnedvinsk District Court rendered a guilty verdict. Based on Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the woman was sentenced to a fine of 30 base units, totaling 1,350 rubles.

The court's verdict has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed in appellate order.
