On the crime situation in the Verkhnedvinsk district in 2024
In 2024, the Prosecutor's Office of the Verkhnedvinsk District carried out systematic work to coordinate all subjects of crime prevention. In interaction with other state bodies, supervisory and organizational measures were implemented in the past year, aimed at ensuring legality and law and order in all spheres of activity.
The measures taken by the district prosecutor's office and other law enforcement agencies made it possible to prevent an increase in crime.
Thus, over the 12 months of 2024, a decrease in the total number of registered crimes was observed in the Verkhnedvinsk District – from 195 to 164 (-31 crimes compared to the same period in 2023). The crime reduction was 15.9% (regional average indicator – 8.4%).
In terms of criminal investigation, the crime rate for 2024 also decreased – from 95 to 71 (-24 crimes compared to the same period in 2023). The decrease was 25.3% (regional average indicator – 31.4%).
By type of crime committed: 71 (95) crimes were registered under criminal investigation, 21 (22) – cybercrime counteraction, 13 (14) – drug control and human trafficking counteraction, 6 (9) – fight against corruption and economic crimes, 4 (2) – counteraction to extremism, 33 (43) – by other services.
Despite the decrease in the total number of registered crimes, the crime rate per 10,000 population in the Verkhnedvinsk District is one of the highest in the region, and in 2024 it was 82.8 (regional average indicator – 73.4).
In 2024, there was an increase in the number of serious and especially serious crimes – from 36 to 39 (+3 crimes compared to the same period in 2023). The increase was 8.3% (regional average indicator – 9.8%).
Also in 2024, the number of registered murders and attempted murders increased – from 0 to 2. The number of crimes related to intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm remains significant – 3 (2023 – 4).
In 2024, the district prosecutor's office conducted 4 inspections with the aim of eliminating existing shortcomings in the work of prevention entities and stabilizing the crime situation in the sphere of crime prevention. As a result, 4 proposals were submitted, 27 individuals were brought to administrative responsibility, 5 officials were disciplined, and the district prosecutor issued official warnings to 17 individuals regarding the inadmissibility of violating legislation.
Despite some existing negative aspects, the state of law and order in the Verkhnedvinsk district is generally stable and under control.
