Infringement upon the life and health of another person poses an increased public danger. Such infringements are even more dangerous when they become a way of resolving interpersonal conflicts, a norm in relationships with people.

The Prosecutor's Office of Verkhnedvinsk District supported the state prosecution in the Verkhnedvinsk District Court in a criminal case charging G. with committing a grave crime under Part 1 of Article 147 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, namely, intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, that is, harm dangerous to life.

The criminal prosecution authority accused G. of intentionally inflicting one stab wound to the abdominal cavity of her husband K., who was recognized as the victim in this criminal case, on one of the days in April 2024, while in a state of alcoholic intoxication, on the grounds of personal animosity that arose during an argument, with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm. This caused bodily harm to the victim K., which is classified as grievous bodily harm due to being dangerous to life.

During the court hearing, the accused G. fully admitted her guilt in the committed crime and explained the circumstances of the crime. Also, during the judicial investigation, G.'s guilt in the act imputed to her was fully confirmed. The testimony of the victim, prosecution witnesses, expert conclusions, investigation records, material evidence, and other written case materials, thoroughly examined during the judicial investigation, reliably allowed for the reconstruction of the events that occurred.

Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the court found G. guilty of committing the crime provided for by Part 1 of Article 147 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and sentenced her to 4 years of imprisonment, to be served in a correctional colony under a general regime.

When imposing the sentence, the court took into account that G. had previously been repeatedly convicted, was characterized as mediocre at her place of residence, and had been brought to administrative responsibility for committing offenses while intoxicated within the year.

The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
