On the agenda – schools' readiness for the new academic year

The Prosecutor's Office of Verkhnedvinsk District, in anticipation of Knowledge Day, inspected the readiness of educational institutions for the 2024/2025 academic year.

The objective is to ensure comfortable and safe conditions for students.

The results of the inspections indicate that a significant volume of construction and other work has been completed in the district overall. However, there are instances where planned activities by educational institutions have not been fulfilled.

Specifically, construction work remained unfinished in a number of schools. In some cases, video surveillance cameras were not installed as part of the modernization of security systems. A fact was identified regarding the failure to take measures to commence roof repairs at a school building. In isolated educational institutions, school grounds fencing has not been installed, sanitary equipment has not been replaced, and repairs to the fire alarm system have not been completed.

Furthermore, during the inspection, violations were identified in two educational institutions that could potentially lead
to injuries of minors.

For example, in violation of regulatory legal acts, construction debris is stored on school grounds without being cordoned off with tape or other appropriate means around the perimeter. Consequently, minors have free access to these areas.

In order to promptly eliminate the identified violations, the District Prosecutor's Office issued two directives to the directors of the educational institutions.

The issue of the readiness of educational institutions remains under control.
