The chief power engineer committed official negligence, resulting in cattle mortality: the Verkhnedvinsk district prosecutor's office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case

The Prosecutor's Office of the Verkhnedvinsk District, at an on-site hearing held at the agricultural enterprise KUPSHP "K.", supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 35-year-old chief power engineer, who is charged with official negligence resulting in gross damage by negligence.

As established during the court investigation, D., due to his dishonest and negligent attitude towards his duties and violations in the operation of the electrical installation of a tent-type premises for keeping young cattle located on the territory of the livestock farm of KUPSHP "K.", on May 30, 2022, caused electric shock to 44 head of young cattle.

In court, the accused D. partially admitted guilt for the charges brought against him. However, despite the partial admission of guilt, the totality of the evidence presented by the state prosecutor was sufficient for the court to conclude that the accused was guilty of the offense with which he was charged.

A guilty verdict has been rendered in the criminal case.

Pursuant to Part 1 of Article 428 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, D. has been sentenced to three years of restriction of liberty without direction to an open-type correctional institution, with a deprivation of the right to hold positions related to the performance of organizational, managerial, and administrative-economic duties, and the performance of legally significant actions, for a period of 5 years.

The court's verdict also satisfied the claim filed by the Verkhnedvinsk District Prosecutor's Office in the interests of KUPSHP "K." against the accused D. for the recovery of damages in the amount of 55,236 rubles and 60 kopecks, caused by the death of livestock.

The court's verdict has entered into legal force.
