Head of state Alexander Lukashenko, speaking at a reception on behalf of the President of Belarus on Old New Year's Day on January 13, emphasized the unity of Belarusians in eliminating the consequences of heavy snowfall, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. Addressing the attendees, the President said: "In essence, we all serve the Fatherland, moving Belarus forward with concrete actions in the economy, education, healthcare, culture, sports, and public administration. This is daily work." Alexander Lukashenko stressed that representatives of all the listed categories did not rest on holidays, but were on duty.

"I especially liked your initiative in clearing snow in our country. Journalists somehow presented it all as a joke. But there is a grain of truth in this joke, and a significant one. Alexander Lukashenko urged everyone to fully feel the joy of the truly winter weather, as such conditions are not common in Belarus every year. "I would like to address fathers and mothers and ask them: go outside with your children into the snow! Let them remember this winter. The climate has changed, you know this. And it's not a fact that next year or sometime later there will be such wonderful winters. This is a real winter, which the Lord gave us on the eve of the New Year and after it," the President said.-0-
