Lukashenko asked Valentin Sukalo "not to stray far from the Supreme Court"
President of Belarus, Chairman of the VII All-Belarusian People's Congress Alexander Lukashenko asked Valentin Sukalo, who had long headed the Supreme Court of Belarus, to continue sharing his experience and knowledge for the benefit of the development of the legal sphere in the country. He stated this at the second meeting of the VII APN, a BELTA correspondent reports.
Andrei Shved, who until now held the position of Prosecutor General of Belarus, was elected as the new Chairman of the Supreme Court of Belarus at the meeting.
"Valentin Olegovich, special gratitude to you. You have held this position (I remember this, I know) since Soviet times. You are a worthy person," Alexander Lukashenko addressed Valentin Sukalo.
"I only very much wish that the new person in this position takes all the best from you. But, most importantly, we will talk with you further so that you do not go far from the Supreme Court," the President said. "You always had your own opinion. You are not only a practitioner but also a good theorist. And we always turned to you when it was necessary to solve this or that problem, concerning not only courts but also law in our country. Thank you very much. We will do everything to ensure that you are not lost in our society. We will always rely on your experience and knowledge."
