President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has announced a major discussion with the scientific community in the near future. The Head of State made this statement while receiving a report from the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Karanik, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The President noted that his conversation with the head of the NAS precedes a large-scale event with the participation of the scientific community. "This is the first step towards our conversation with scientists, a major conversation," Alexander Lukashenko explained. It is planned to be organized between November 17 and 23. The exact date will be determined later and will depend on the Head of State's schedule, including international events. "You will have the opportunity to prepare for this meeting, for this serious conversation. We need less bureaucracy. If a scientist has something to say on the agenda of this meeting, which we will define, let them speak, we will listen," the President said.

"We need corresponding members and academicians to be present and understand our requirements. We are not going to curry favor with scientists, including myself. Why?
