President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko heard reports from the Chairman of the State Border Committee, General Konstantin Molostov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov, and Chairman of the KGB, General Ivan Tertel, on the situation at the Belarusian-Lithuanian and Belarusian-Polish borders. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader. "As it became known, proposals were received today from the Lithuanian authorities to resolve the situation on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. In this regard, the President heard reports from the Chairman of the State Border Committee, General Konstantin Molostov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov, and Chairman of the KGB, General Ivan Tertel, on the situation at the Belarusian-Lithuanian and Belarusian-Polish borders," the press service reported. Taking into account the appeal from the Lithuanian side, the President instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs to organize negotiations on normalizing the situation and resuming the full operation of border crossing points on the joint border, with the participation of authorized Lithuanian officials responsible for this area.

Interdepartmental coordination and other assistance in conducting negotiations have been entrusted to the State Secretary of the Security Council, Alexander Wolfovich.
