President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated border guard veteran, participant of the Great Patriotic War, retired Colonel Vasily Davzhonok on his significant anniversary - his 100th birthday. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader. "From early youth in the ranks of partisans and underground fighters, and then in the border troops, you defended your native land with a weapon in your hands," the head of state emphasized. The President noted that Vasily Davzhonok has a long life path as a person, a citizen, and a soldier, who dedicated many years to service on the border and was honored with many state awards. "You are a participant in the legendary partisan parade in Minsk in July 1944. A representative of that heroic generation of victors, for whom service to the Fatherland became the goal and meaning of life," the congratulation reads. The head of state expressed the most sincere words of gratitude and appreciation for the fact that, despite his years and trials, the jubilarian is still in service today, finding opportunities to meet with border guard cadets. "Such resilience, strength of spirit, and love for life are admirable and serve as an example for all of us," the Belarusian leader noted.
Alexander Lukashenko wished Vasily Davzhonok health, well-being, vigor, and positivity: "May every new day bring you only good and kindness."
