Lukashenko's multi-day visit to China has concluded

The multi-day visit of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to China has concluded, reports BELTA.

From August 31 to September 1, the Head of State participated in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, as well as in a "SCO Plus" meeting in Tianjin. The summit was the largest in the history of the organization, with approximately 30 leaders from countries and integration structures.
In his speeches, Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that being a member of the SCO is a strategic choice for Belarus. He outlined key issues for the SCO as an element of the new international order, stressed the importance of creating a common SCO scientific and innovation space and the need for an independent SCO financial mechanism, and supported China's initiative on global governance. The President of Belarus named five priorities for the SCO family: multilateralism, security, sustainable development as the basis for stability in the region, food security, as well as industrial and scientific development.

During his stay in China, the President held at least two dozen informal meetings with various international leaders. These included meetings with the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Un, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, Presidents of Zimbabwe and Congo Emmerson Mnangagwa and Denis Sassou Nguesso, and Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.
