A telephone conversation between the Presidents of Belarus and Russia, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, took place on August 17. This was reported to BelTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The heads of state discussed the situation in the region, taking into account the negotiations held in Alaska. The Russian leader informed his Belarusian counterpart in detail about the results of the recent "Russia-USA" summit.

The leaders of the two countries also touched upon specific issues of bilateral Belarusian-Russian relations during the conversation.
