President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the people of France on their National Holiday, widely known throughout the world as Bastille Day. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"July 14 is a turning point in the history of the French struggle for their rights and freedom," the congratulation reads. "In modern conditions, it is precisely these values that acquire special significance for states that strive to pursue an independent policy and independently determine their own future."

The President expressed confidence that the innate wisdom, rational thinking, and traditional friendliness characteristic of the peoples of Belarus and France will help overcome the disagreements and alienation that are tearing the world apart today, and will lead to the path of mutual respect and cooperation.

Alexander Lukashenko wished the people of France peace, solidarity, and well-being.
