Lukashenko pardons 16 convicts ahead of Independence Day
On the eve of Independence Day, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko granted pardons to 16 convicts who committed various crimes, including those of an extremist nature. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
Among those pardoned are eight women and eight men. Three of them are over 50 years old. Two have chronic illnesses, and one is disabled. Nine of the convicts have minor children.
All of them have repented of their actions and have undertaken to abide by the law.
