Lukashenko: such principles of the Order of Malta as mercy, humanism and solidarity are close to Belarus
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta, Fra John Dunlap, on the Feast of Saint John the Baptist. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The Head of State noted that the principles that have guided the Order for centuries – mercy, humanism, and solidarity – are also close to Belarus. "We share the conviction that caring for people, helping the weak and disadvantaged, and striving for dialogue and mutual understanding are the fundamental foundations of a just and harmonious world order," the congratulatory message reads.
The current jubilee year, which is celebrated by the Catholic Church as the Year of Hope, has special significance, according to the President. "This is a time of spiritual renewal, strengthening of universal values and solidarity. I believe that the activities of the Order of Malta, filled with service and compassion, will occupy a worthy place in the pursuit of peace and spiritual revival," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. "May the challenges of our time become an impetus for rethinking, seeking ways of reconciliation, and deepening international cooperation."
The President of Belarus wished the Prince and Grand Master excellent health and well-being, and the Order of Malta further prosperity.
