Lukashenko noted Belarus' readiness to intensify relations with the Philippines in many areas
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, on behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, congratulated President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the entire Filipino people on their national holiday - Independence Day. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"Despite the significant geographical distance, Minsk and Manila share similar views on many issues of the international and bilateral agenda," the congratulatory message reads. "I am convinced that our states will continue to provide mutual support on various global platforms."
The President noted Belarus's readiness to intensify relations with the Philippines in many areas. "To systematize and expand cooperation, we have proposed the establishment of a Belarusian-Philippine intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. I count on your assistance in this matter," the head of state emphasized.
Alexander Lukashenko wished Ferdinand Marcos Jr. good health and vital energy for him and his loved ones, and the Filipino people - well-being and prosperity.
