"The squeeze will be serious." Lukashenko spoke about plans to familiarize himself with the production and use of fuel pellets

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting in the Lyuban district, spoke about his immediate plans to familiarize himself with the production and use of fuel pellets, a BELTA correspondent reports.

The topic of fuel pellets came up during a meeting on the commissioning of a mining and processing complex for the production of potash fertilizers in the Lyuban district. Alexander Lukashenko generally focused on ways to develop the production sector, create new enterprises, and develop existing competencies.

"We need to pay more attention at the presidential level to the promising areas of our development," the Belarusian leader emphasized.

The use of local fuel raw materials, and in particular, the production of pellets from wood waste, is one of these areas, which Alexander Lukashenko instructed to develop several years ago. His immediate plans include familiarizing himself with practical examples of how this has been implemented.   

"We will look at another promising area. At one time, I ordered the construction of several pellet production plants. There is a lot of debris and waste in the forest. Grind it all, process it, and make granules to heat premises. We started doing it. We fell under sanctions. They whine: 'There's no one to sell to!' We don't need to sell, let's use it ourselves. We've made boilers," said the head of state. - Wood chips, pellets instead of natural gas and oil, petroleum products. We will see how a typical provincial enterprise has been modernized and what products it produces. This is also our prospect - processing of this wood waste. There is a lot of it in the forest. And there will be a serious impetus here. What difference does it make to people where the heat comes from. And we burn what is being wasted, and we get effect and benefit from it."

Alexander Lukashenko noted that it is especially important now to pay attention to this and other promising areas in order to demonstrate the country's development path to the new generation. "They should see our system of work. If they want, let them adopt it in the future. If they don't want to, let them offer something better. But then the Belarusian people will hold them accountable. It is very important that they understand that this is our path, we are demonstrating this path to the youth. And we must achieve this within the five-year period."
