"A New Page in the Chronicle of Sovereign Belarus". Lukashenko opened the International Exhibition Center
On May 8, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko solemnly opened the Minsk International Exhibition Center. This was reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"We are opening a new page in the chronicle of our sovereign Belarus. We have named this marvel the Minsk International Exhibition Center," the head of state said during the ceremony, which was attended by representatives of the capital's public, the developer company, and construction organizations involved in the construction of this facility. "Modern, unpretentious, soaring like a stork over a picturesque corner of our capital, it is designed to show the world our richest potential and the achievements of the Belarusian nation."
The President noted that the opening is taking place as planned – as agreed, so it was done. Speaking about the concept realized in this center, the head of state recalled his long-ago visit to the former exhibition site in Minsk, where achievements of the national economy were demonstrated. "I entered it and was amazed. I didn't think Belarus could do all this," said the head of state. Today's youth also does not know everything about the vast opportunities of their country, the President is confident. Therefore, it is very important to concentrate in one place all that Belarusians have achieved over the years of independence, to gather the best. "My idea was to build this center here, permanently housing the highest achievements of our country, our sovereign Belarus – this is what we have done ourselves, not as part of a huge country, but ourselves, Belarusians, with our own minds and hands," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.
