Lukashenko on woodworking financial performance: our money and prospects are there
The financial performance of the woodworking industry indicates where our money and our future lie. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during his visit to woodworking section No. 2 of the Orsha Forestry in the agro-town of Kopys, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The Minister of Forestry, Alexander Kulik, reported to the President on the provision of forestry enterprises with modern logging equipment and the woodworking industry with wood raw materials. Speaking about exports, Alexander Kulik noted that products are supplied to the markets of 16 countries. It was mentioned that financial results in the woodworking industry have improved.
"This shows where our money and our future lie. Not even in oil refining. We have our own raw materials, this needs to be developed. And everything that corresponds to these raw materials," emphasized Alexander Lukashenko.
The discussion touched upon the fact that organizations of the Ministry of Forestry supplied 10 million cubic meters of wood to state-owned and private woodworking enterprises in our country last year. The Head of Presidential Affairs, Yuri Nazarov, drew attention to the need for enterprises that process wood in large volumes to understand the prospects.
