President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, while receiving a report from Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev, promised to take control of the landscaping progress in Minsk and explained why it is important for every resident, BelTA reports.
During the conversation, the Head of State placed a special emphasis on tidying up Minsk during the Year of Landscaping. "As it is in Minsk, so it will be throughout the country. Vladimir Evgenievich, this does not mean that we should sweep the streets somewhere or plant trees. First of all, specific people, enterprises, and organizations must be responsible for every square meter in Minsk," the President set the task.
For example, the city authorities have entrusted an educational institution with the process of landscaping Victory Park in Minsk, and its head is responsible for it. "The same applies to enterprises. I have spoken about this many times. Around the enterprise, as you designate a zone of responsibility for them on the map, they must be responsible for it, so that it is clean and tidy," said Alexander Lukashenko.
The Head of State explained that the requirement to keep the city clean and orderly is not so much about making it beautiful, but about caring for people's health. "You know, people heard: 'They demand cleanliness and so on, collecting leaves and the like.' And what if they don't collect them? It all rots, and this rot, along with all the infections that accumulate there, is inhaled by people. This is people's health. Therefore, not only one's own home, but everything around, in public places, must be kept clean and orderly. Therefore, every patch of land must be assigned to someone," the President emphasized.
