A telephone conversation between the Presidents of Belarus and Russia took place on the evening of April 7. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
Vladimir Putin called Alexander Lukashenko and thanked him for the detention of the largest shipment of particularly dangerous cargo – explosives. It was attempted to be transported into Russia the day before. The Belarusian customs service thwarted the attempt to import it. It has been established that this is a highly potent explosive substance, a small amount of which can lead to the most serious consequences.
The President of Russia asked to convey gratitude and, as far as possible, to encourage the specialists and experts who discovered and identified the dangerous cargo.
In addition, the heads of state discussed upcoming meetings, including one in late April in Volgograd, agreeing to discuss current cooperation issues in detail upon meeting and to exchange views on a wide range of topics in general.
Also during the conversation, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin discussed the upcoming Belarusian-Russian exercises "West-2025" and briefly touched upon the situation in the special military operation zone.
