Lukashenko signed a decree on the implementation of an investment project for the introduction of 5G technology in Belarus
On April 1, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 139 "On the Implementation of an Investment Project". The document is aimed at further developing modern telecommunication network infrastructure in Belarus through the introduction of new information and communication technologies for the benefit of the state, citizens, and businesses. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The decree provides for the creation of a cellular mobile telecommunication network using IMT-2020 (5G) technology based on the single infrastructure operator model, incorporating a unified cellular mobile telecommunication network using LTE (4G) technology into this network.
The implementation of the project is expected to enhance the accessibility and quality of mobile communication and internet speed through the active introduction of 5G technology and the expansion of LTE coverage across the country.
