Lukashenko on the Minsk International Book Fair: this is a unique event in public, cultural and spiritual life
Head of State Alexander Lukashenko sent greetings to the participants of the XXXII Minsk International Book Fair and the XI International Symposium of Writers "The Writer and Time". This was reported to BelTA by the Presidential Press Service.
"The Minsk Book Fair, being a unique event in the social, cultural and spiritual life of Belarus, has a high international status and attracts the attention of thousands of people every year," the greetings read.
The President emphasized that at all times the book has been and remains the main source of knowledge, a part of the intellectual heritage of ancestors, and today, in the age of information technologies, it contributes to strengthening the unity of the people and serves to cultivate the best moral qualities in youth.
It is noteworthy that the current forum is taking place in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, and many events and stands of the exhibition are dedicated to this event, which tell about the feats, heroic struggle and genocide of the Belarusian people, the head of state noted.
"I am convinced that traditional meetings of writers and book lovers open new horizons for humanitarian cooperation, bringing countries and peoples closer together," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
Alexander Lukashenko wished all participants and guests of the exhibition fruitful work and creative inspiration, interesting meetings and pleasant impressions.
