Lukashenko congratulated police officers on their professional holiday

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated veterans, servicemen, and employees of the internal affairs bodies and internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on their professional holiday - Police Day. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"This day connects eras and destinies of generations - people who stood at the origins of the formation of the republic's law enforcement agencies more than a century ago, and those who ensure the security and protection of the country's citizens today," the congratulation reads.

The Head of State noted that the history of the Belarusian police, starting from the first workers' and peasants' detachments that undertook the commitment to maintain order on the streets of our cities and villages, to the police officers who were the first to take the enemy's blow during the Great Patriotic War, is a chronicle of courage and selflessness.

The President thanked everyone who continues the traditions of dedicated service to the law and the people - veterans and current employees of the internal affairs bodies, servicemen of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. "Every day you confront crime, protect the rights of citizens, often risking your own lives. Largely thanks to your professionalism, readiness to act and take responsibility for maintaining legality and order in society, we maintain peace and stability in the country," the Belarusian leader emphasized.

Alexander Lukashenko wished veterans, servicemen, and employees of the internal affairs bodies and internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs good health, happiness, and new successes in their service for the sake of peace and well-being of their native Fatherland.
