Указом Президента расширено участие Госинспекции охраны животного и растительного мира в обеспечении нацбезопасности

By decree of the President, the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora has expanded its participation in ensuring national security

On January 15, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 27 "On the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora under the President of the Republic of Belarus". This was reported to BelTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document provides for the expanded participation of the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora in ensuring the national security of Belarus, in connection with which new tasks are assigned to this structure (along with the preservation of all previously existing ones).

In particular, officials of this state inspectorate are empowered to conduct personal searches of citizens and their belongings, including with the use of technical and special means, at the entrances to the protected facilities of the department, as well as to seize prohibited items and substances. Drivers of vehicles of this state inspectorate involved in the suppression of unlawful acts, on a par with the inspectorate staff, are empowered to use and employ weapons, physical force, and special means.

In order to increase the effectiveness of the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora, the unit is equipped with modern technical means.

The decree is adopted in fulfillment of the head of state's requirements to eliminate multiplicity of legal regulation and ensure simplicity of legislative perception. Instead of three decrees (No. 341 of June 29, 2010, No. 443 of September 25, 2013, and No. 269 of July 15, 2019), a single comprehensive document has been prepared regulating the activities of the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora under the President of the Republic of Belarus.
