The working schedule of the President of Belarus is always very eventful.
Alexander Lukashenko holds meetings and working sessions on the most pressing issues of the country's development, regularly visits regions, makes foreign visits and receives foreign guests himself, communicates with journalists, and signs decrees and laws. And even when there are no public events, it does not mean that the head of state is not working. However, even during his leisure time, whether it's a hockey practice or chopping wood, Alexander Lukashenko always finds an occasion for another assignment. As he likes to say, one must always proceed from life.
The head of state's first public event last week was a visit to a church on Christmas. This time, Alexander Lukashenko came to Logoisk. A traditional Christmas candle, warm conversation with members of the clergy and people who came to church.
But the conversation was not only about festive and spiritual matters. The President voiced several important points he wanted to convey to all citizens of Belarus: about upcoming difficulties and ways to overcome them, about the importance of maintaining peace and unity in the country, about social-oriented policy and justice, about youth and generational change. Alexander Lukashenko confessed his love for the Belarusian people, calling them good and hardworking.
Alexander Lukashenko continued the conversation about the future of Belarus the next day, traditionally presenting the awards "For Spiritual Revival," special awards to figures of culture and art, and the special award "Belarusian Sport Olympus." The President emphasized that spirituality and morality are the foundation of a strong and independent state.
A prime example of the state's social policy is Friday's event with the participation of Alexander Lukashenko. The President visited the new "Shchomyslitsa" pumping station, where the ceremony of launching artesian water supply for Minsk took place. Now, all residents of the Belarusian capital have access to the purest water. The President called this achievement the greatest feat of the current generation, comparing its scale to projects in space and nuclear energy.
There, the head of state also instructed to promptly address two other pressing issues for Minsk and other large cities - the reconstruction of wastewater treatment facilities and the deep processing of waste. Another instruction concerns the Ministry of Health - to take additional measures for epidemic prevention.
By the way, during the week, the President's Gratitude was announced to the enterprise "Minskproekt" for its effective performance in the field of design support for construction and its significant contribution to the design of socially important facilities.
By Decree No. 1 in the new year, Alexander Lukashenko has now officially declared 2025 the Year of Improvement.
Among other first documents adopted in the current year are important decisions on support for talented youth, incentives for gifted pupils and students, awarding presidential scholarships to postgraduate students, and financing projects in culture and arts.
A decree has been signed aimed at improving the construction conditions for the experimental multifunctional complex "Severny Bereg" (North Bank).
The first days of the new year have already been marked by a number of natural disasters worldwide. One of them is a powerful and destructive earthquake in Tibet. Alexander Lukashenko expressed condolences to the Chairman of the PRC Xi Jinping.
