President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the staff of Gomeltransneft Druzhba OJSC on the company's 60th anniversary. BelTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
"The construction in 1964 of the world's largest system of main pipelines, which passed through the territory of our republic and connected the USSR with the socialist countries of Eastern Europe, became a landmark event. Many technologies for oil transportation and storage were applied for the first time in history then," the congratulatory message reads.
Over six decades of operation, more than 4 billion tons of black gold have been pumped through the Gomeltransneft Druzhba company's system. And now the enterprise is an important link in the supply of raw materials to domestic oil refineries.
"It is gratifying that you are developing confidently: you are modernizing kilometers of pipelines, building new stations, expanding the tank farm," Alexander Lukashenko noted. "The petrochemical complex is successfully coping with its tasks, strengthening the industrial potential of Belarus, thanks in part to your work. I am convinced that this will continue to be the case."
The Head of State wished the company's employees, as well as their families and loved ones, health, happiness, peace, and well-being.
