Lukashenko noted the significant contribution of VGMU to the development of domestic healthcare

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the staff of the Vitebsk State Order of Friendship of Peoples Medical University on the 90th anniversary of the university's founding. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Head of State.

 
Alexander Lukashenko recalled that the history of the university, inextricably linked with the era of the formation of Belarusian statehood and the development of the national healthcare system, began with the opening of a hospital-medical university.
 
"Today, the university is a major center for practice-oriented medical education and science. True professionals work here, continuing the traditions laid down by their predecessors, whose names Belarus is proud of," the congratulatory message reads.
 
The Head of State noted that new teaching methods and modern medical care technologies are being implemented within the university walls, which raises the quality of specialist training to a new level.
 
"Thank you for your significant contribution to the development of domestic healthcare. I am convinced that your graduates will continue to demonstrate the main qualities of a doctor - selflessness, empathy, and readiness to help at any moment," the President emphasized.
