Лукашенко поздравил сотрудников УВД Гродненского облисполкома с 80-летием со дня образования

Lukashenko congratulated the employees of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee on the 80th anniversary of its formation

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the employees and veterans of the internal affairs department of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee on the 80th anniversary of its formation. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The head of state recalled that the first pages of the department's professional history were written in October 1944, when the Grodno region was formed after the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. "Ensuring law and order in its territory ravaged by the Hitlerites was a vital necessity," the Belarusian leader noted.

A considerable burden of responsibility then fell on the shoulders of the first leaders of the regional police apparatus, who, according to the President, put their whole soul and skill into their service, found and trained new employees capable of effectively combating post-war crime, and also created units to help the civilian population.

"The employees of the Grodno police have honorably withstood all the trials that befell the Belarusian people in the post-war period: devastation, banditry, the atrocities of armed anti-Soviet gangs. They worthily fulfilled their international duty in Afghanistan, participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, and after the collapse of the USSR, they resisted the rampant organized crime with all their might in the first years of the formation of independent Belarus," the congratulation reads.

Now the Grodno region police are keeping pace with the times, and its employees set a personal example of selfless devotion to the Fatherland, Alexander Lukashenko stated.

"I am convinced that in the future, relying on the glorious traditions laid down by the veterans, a high level of professional and ideological training, you will worthily raise a new generation so that it, like you, will preserve the peace and tranquility that our citizens are accustomed to and that foreign guests always admire," the President emphasized.

The head of state wished the employees and veterans of the Internal Affairs Department of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee good health and new successes in their service, and their families and loved ones – patience, happiness, and well-being.
