Lukashenko noted Belarus's interest in establishing strong ties with Botswana

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated President of Botswana Mokgweetsi Masisi on the national holiday - Independence Day. This was reported to BelTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.


The Head of State noted that Botswana is currently a country with a high level of political stability and socio-economic development, whose foreign policy approaches are based on principles close to Belarus's principles of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.

"I am confident that Belarusian-Botswanan relations have significant potential for expanding political dialogue and trade and economic cooperation," the President emphasized. According to Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus is interested in establishing strong bilateral ties in the fields of agriculture, food security, industrial cooperation, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, and education. The country is also ready to offer its accumulated experience for training Botswanan citizens in areas of activity that are priority for their economy.

"I hope that strengthening interstate interaction through joint efforts will soon yield significant results," the President noted.

Alexander Lukashenko wished Mokgweetsi Masisi good health, longevity, and success, and the friendly people of Botswana - peace and confidence in the future.
