On the eve of the Day of National Unity, the President of Belarus signed a decree pardoning another 37 people

On the eve of National Unity Day, the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed a decree pardoning another 37 individuals convicted of extremist crimes. This is another act of humanism on the part of the state towards those who have erred.

As reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader, the document was signed on September 16.

Among those pardoned are six women; a number of the pardoned individuals have chronic illnesses, are disabled, or are pensioners.

All of them have repented and asked for an opportunity to return to freedom and lead a law-abiding life.

The petitions of the convicted individuals were further studied by a commission headed by Prosecutor General Andrei Shved.
