Lukashenko: Belarus consistently strives to deepen dialogue with India

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, on behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, congratulated President of India Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister of this country Narendra Modi, as well as all its residents on the national holiday - Independence Day. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"Thanks to the independent course of the Indian government, its exceptional focus on the interests of the people, and its responsible approach to foreign policy, India rightfully enjoys well-deserved authority on the global stage and plays an important role in addressing pressing issues on the international agenda," the congratulatory message to Droupadi Murmu reads.

The Head of State emphasized that Belarus highly values the Indian leadership's efforts in implementing large-scale socio-economic transformations and ensuring stability and harmony in the country.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that Minsk consistently strives to deepen dialogue with New Delhi and expects to elevate relations to a qualitatively new level in both political and trade-economic spheres through active joint efforts. "I will be glad to discuss possible steps in this direction with you during our personal meeting," the President of Belarus noted in his message to the President of India. The Head of State also thanked Droupadi Murmu for her principled support of Belarus's accession as a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

In his congratulatory message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Alexander Lukashenko stated that Belarus cherishes the good friendly relations that have developed between the countries and allow them to find mutual interest in various sectors.

"I am convinced that through the effective implementation of the roadmap for the development of key areas of cooperation, we will be able to elevate our partnership to a qualitatively new level," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
