Lukashenko: Now it is our turn to write new pages of Belarusian history
After gaining sovereignty, Belarusians together built a truly people's state. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on July 2 at the state awards ceremony, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that the event is held on the eve of the main state holiday - Independence Day. He emphasized that July 3 is a sacred and symbolic date. After all, it marked the beginning of 80 years of peaceful life in Belarus.
Addressing everyone present at the ceremony, the President stressed: "You are worthy successors to those who 80 years ago defended our freedom and independence, and then, overcoming devastation, fulfilled five-year plans in four years. After gaining sovereignty, we together built a truly people's state. And now, no matter how difficult it may be, it is our turn to write new pages of Belarusian history - bright, happy, and definitely peaceful. Time has chosen us."
The Head of State congratulated the participants of the event on the upcoming Independence Day, wishing that this holiday and the current solemn ceremony would become a new impetus for professional success for them and for all residents of the country.
