Lukashenko ordered the creation of a working group to analyze the work of the NAS

On June 18, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on the establishment of a standing working group to analyze the activities of the National Academy of Sciences. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Head of State.

The working group includes independent competent experts, authoritative scientists with profound knowledge, high qualifications, and significant experience in the scientific field and public administration. Vasily Gerasimov, Chairman of the State Control Committee, has been appointed as its head.
 
The working group will examine issues related to the practical orientation and effectiveness of scientific research and development by scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the implementation of developments in the economy and social sphere, the development of import-substituting products and technologies, and the export of scientific and technical products.
 
If necessary, heads and specialists of republican government bodies and other organizations, as well as relevant specialists in specific fields of science and practical activities, will be involved in the group's work.
 
Annually by July 15 (this year - by November 1), the working group will submit a report to the President on the results of its work and proposals for resolving identified issues.
 
The State Committee on Science and Technology has been tasked with ensuring the activities of the working group.
