Lukashenko and Putin held a phone conversation
A telephone conversation took place between the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The heads of state exchanged views on the situation in the region and its development prospects.
Economic issues and the implementation of agreements in the economic and security spheres, reached in Minsk during the recent official visit of the Russian leader, were also discussed.
Defense and security issues in general were discussed by the heads of state as a separate block during the conversation.
Another topic on the agenda was joint work and areas of cooperation abroad, outside the Union State.
The Presidents of Belarus and Russia also agreed on a schedule for further contacts.
Alexander Lukashenko also congratulated Vladimir Putin on Russia Day.
