President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko proposes to create a joint venture in the jewelry sector with the Magadan region. He announced this at a meeting with the governor of this region of the Russian Federation, Sergey Nosov, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"Belarus has clearly established legislation in the field of assay supervision and circulation of precious metals. We have preserved the Kristall jewelry factory in Gomel since Soviet times. The enterprise has many years of experience working with precious metals and stones. A wide range of products is manufactured, including jewelry, using diamonds of Belarusian cut," the head of state noted.

He proposed to explore options for creating a joint venture at this enterprise using Magadan raw materials. Sergey Nosov said that during his visit to Belarus, he intends to visit the Kristall factory. He mentioned that the Magadan region has companies with a full cycle – from geological exploration and gold mining to the production of jewelry. This includes natural nuggets that are used in the manufacture of jewelry. "Cooperation can be of interest to our manufacturers as well," the head of the region explained.
