The meeting between Lukashenko and Aliyev is taking place at the Palace of the President of Azerbaijan

The meeting between the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is taking place at the Azerbaijani leader's Zagulba Palace, BELTA correspondent reports.

According to protocol, the negotiations are preceded by ceremonial events with the participation of an honor guard company and the performance of national anthems. Members of the delegations also participate in the ceremony. Another mandatory tradition is the photo session of the two leaders. Only after this do the heads of state retire for negotiations.

First, Alexander Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev will hold a one-on-one meeting, after which the delegations will join them and the negotiations will be held in an expanded format.

The venue for the negotiations is the Zagulba Palace. It is part of the new residence of the President of Azerbaijan, built in 2008. The palace is located in the settlement of Zagulba, 40 km from Baku; in Soviet times, government dachas were located here.

The palace is situated on the shore of the Caspian Sea; its architecture combines elements of modern trends with Azerbaijani national style. The President of Azerbaijan holds official meetings and negotiations here.
